AM - 10 morning practice. Had trouble getting up, since I had just barely gone to bed (dirty track meets!). Then my Jeep wouldn't start. So I barely made it to practice before Ruth had to run alone. We did AC. Then I did 2450 and 2 laps while waiting for Kimz and Austin. Then the three of us did AC. Isn't it interesting that the three that show up to practice in the morning are also the three that are actually hitting PR's and BYU and State times. (Stratus red 272.3)

Jumped on the scale this morning and was 145.8 without shoes. A bit low still - granted that was after my run, but I didn't sweat much in the chill this morning. I have always run my best races at a race weight of 150. But I think somewhere around 148 will still bring me back enough strength to run solid.

afternoon - 6 Green Springs. Ran with the boys and Ruth. Just a nice easy run to help us all try and get our legs back. (Cumulus silver 450.15)

So true what you said. Those that put in the work usually are the same ones that succeed. How did the meet go? I had to drop Jordan off at the high school at 7:00 and it looked like events were still going on. Are any of you guys running the run4kids race?

From dave holt on Fri, Apr 11, 2008 at 09:44:22

The meet was horrendously (sp?) long. And the wind and cold didn't help either. But some of the kids ran very well - Ruthie, Austin, Kimz, Trevor, a few hurdle/sprint girls also.

Everyone else is doing Run4Kids.

If you need more pounds, you can gladly take about 15 off of me! That would benefit both of us! Good job Dave. You are working hard and so dedicated.

I guess you can be Jaba but with weight like that it doesn't really fit... If you grow your hair back out you could pull off Chewbawka (sp).

Work ethic sure does pay off, I hope the rest of the team notices but I doubt it, the same thing was true for my college CC team.

It is funny to read a blogger looking for more weight pre-race versus less but you do make a good point that without the fuel and muscle on board you can't perform at your top. It seems like you are recovering well from illness. I'm looking forward to talking with you again next weekend and to a good race by all. See you soon, 1-week to go!!!

Clyde the first time I read your comment, I misread it to say "grow your back hair out"! I thought that was our little secret and you're not supposed to tell anyone.

From Runnman on Fri, Apr 11, 2008 at 21:27:45

Hey Dave, glad to see you coming around again. As for the subject of hair (back or otherwise) the secret to speed is in Pre's sideburns.

We are in the same weight division we should box or wrestle. On a good day I am around 148.

From dave holt on Sat, Apr 12, 2008 at 21:18:17

Bring it Decker! I already owned Austin at the track meet!

From The Beast on Sat, Apr 12, 2008 at 21:20:40

Austin wasn't in your weight division.
