AM - 8 Green Springs with extensions. A little fatigued - not as good a run as last week. I will try and get a solid week in even with State Track. That means probably a little bit early in the week. (Landreth 128.5)

afternoon - 9.5. 2 mile DI loop with team to warm up. Then they did their 4's. After I did a big loop to get the legs moving again and went into my workout (200,400,600,800,1000 w/ equal jog distance to run between each). 200-33.45, 400-1:09 felt pretty good about the 2 and 4 but maybe overdid it a little and got pretty spent, 600-1:54, 800-2:39, 1000-3:25. Then I got home and did 2.5 more on the treadmill to finish the cooldown. (Stratus red 309.5)

I spent some time reading what I had done last year while I was in this phase because I feel like I am not doing very well right now. Unfortunately, I am right. Last year I was running quite a bit faster. 200's (sets of 10+) at 31 and 32's. 400's (sets of 12-16) at 1:16's. The turnover I used to have just isn't there anymore - even in just a year I feel it slipping.

Hey- congrats on the big win over the weekend. Crazy prize.

What time are we leaving Thursday? The later the better for me! I'm hoping you aren't going to say until at least 11-12???

Ya nice job on the race!

From Superfly on Tue, May 13, 2008 at 09:53:19

Your not slipping. You had a bad sickness and then had to kind of force a marathon. You'll PR several times this summer.

From Ally Holt on Tue, May 13, 2008 at 10:02:34

hang in there Dave. I agree with Clyde. You will do great this summer and especially at St. George. I can't wait!

Try to stay positive. That was last year, this is this year, can't compare the two because you are in a different situation. Focus on the now and try to improve. So much of this running game is mental, keep it positive. You will have a great year just hang in there.

Hey, Coach!

You know it was that hot dog I caught you eating at PV like 2 months ago...just kiddin'. Or maybe Jeremy would say you haven't been reading your scriptures enough. haha.

But really, you know better than I do that everyone has slumps once in awhile, so you'll be alright as long as you just work thru it and have fun with it. Just keep on a truckin'. You're probably in better shape than I am right now, at least I know your endurance is pretty much forever compared to me right now:)

And this blog is totally sweet! (By the way, this is Joe if you haven't already figured that out) have a good day!

hang in there dave, it hard to stay on the top of the mountain for too long. even the best have to come down for some air once in a while. you'll get back up to the top. good luck at state track. i don't have any good memories of state track. i made it there once and took last. i'm probably faster now than i was then.

Oh you'll be just fine. We all know you will bounce back and be amazing at STGM and even before that.

Did you get my note from practice about the medley? I guess Green's dad doesn't want her even running the relays, but she said she is. Her shins are killin her so if we could pull her in at least the medley trials that would be good. Think about it so Dayci can practice handoffs tomorrow if you think it will work.

I was also wondering about 4x1 order. I have them going Kailee,Green,Cassidy,Erin...what do you think? Green might be better last even though Erin's faster, but this is how we've been practicing.
