AM - 6 AC/Lutheran.  Finally a good night sleep.  I could take about 1 million of those in a row!  (Rocket 487.75)

afternoon - 10 Dog Pound/2450/DI.  Ran 5 with the team and then added some more to get in a decent run.  Got spat on by a little girl and then yelled at by the mom for telling her that it had happened - interesting stuff... the apple doesn't fall far from the tree.  (Kinvara3 119)

AM - 13 Junction.  With no morning practice today, I ran from home and added a little to get some mileage in before heading up to AF for a race.  Family is leaving town, so it was nice to see them this morning before they head out.  Good run.  Extended up into the industrial area and then around Coral Canyon also.  (Kinvara 730.4)\

PM - 4.25 AF.  Ran from Byron's uncle and aunt's home where we were staying for a bit with the team.  Fun run since the girls were hanging around to make fun of!  (Altra 346.25)

morning - 7 AFHS.  4 mile warm up with the boys and then a couple more running around and cheering/yelling at them.  Then another mile with the team for a cool down.  (Zero 88.5)

Week wasn't too bad, just super busy.  Not that things look like they will slow down at all.

Goals for next week:  Wanted to get some stronger mileage in, but I have stinkin' P/T Conferences to waste all my time at on Tuesday and Wednesday - Tuesday... Seriously!  On Election Day!  Such a bunch of crap.

AM - 6 AC/Lutheran.  I wanted to get up earlier and get a bigger morning in, but after staying up late and waking up multiple times with a sick E-babes, the extra minutes were necessary.  But then the run ended up being real nice and I wished I had dragged out - especially now that I remembered about stupid P/T Conferences stealing all my afternoons this week.  (Free 709.95)

afternoon - 10 Parkway.  Good run with the boys.  Pushed a few sections including the last .3 miles at some sort of vicious pace trying to catch Michael.  (Boston 903.5)

AM - 6 AC/Lutheran.  Usual morning run.  I can not get up earlier right now.  I think I am just spent from all the junk I am doing.  (Hyper Speed 2 228)

afternoon - 13.25 1200,1000,800,600 (x3)/DI warm/cool.  What a beast of a workout.  Jumped in with the boys and hit this monster.  It was a toughie and really pushed me out of my comfort zone.  I hadn't done a workout like this with the team in a couple years and I can see why.  The longer the the repeat the closer I was to the top guys; the shorter, the more of the team that got by me.  Reminded me how heinous our grass is.  (Zero 102.25)

AM - 6 AC/Lutheran. Usual morning. Glad I didn't get up earlier since the three oldest girls all decided to get sick today as well as Ally and I would have been gone just as they were all puking. (Kinvara 736.4)

afternoon - 8.5 DI/GS. Ran the warm and cool with the team around their time trial. As well as some 200's that just showed how dang slow I have gotten. (Landreth blue 867.4)

morning - 10 Prospector. Felt a little better, so a few of the boys came over and we ran a bit on the trails. Felt pretty good and had a fun run, but by the end I wasn't feeling so great anymore. (NB 101 616.75)

Week was pretty solid until the end obviously. Wish I hadn't gotten sick, obviously. But it was my turn - everyone else in the fam had been sick earlier in the week.

Goals for next week: front load the week a little since we'll be headed down to Phoenix. Hopefully feeling better in a couple days.

AM - 6 AC/Lutheran. Coldest morning this season - below freezing. Stomach still not quite right. (Kinvara3 124)

afternoon - 13.5 4x1000/Shoe. DI warm and cool around 4x1000 with the girls - they lit them up. Then I went out on the Shoe run. Nice little addition. And some more with the girls and dog. (Zero 114.25). Jumped into the weight room for the first time in a long time. Trying a little something different there that the team will be using when we get back into weights - higher weights, less reps, quicker - more powerful building, based on the theory that we already develop long lean muscle and the weight room is for more explosive strength.

AM - 10 AC/Trail to Nowhere. After the team run, I added extra with a push trying to get around Tinman pace. I was off just a little, but no stress. Just happy that I am beginning to get a little quicker stuff in again. (Hyper Speed 280.25)

afternoon - 11.5 Grass/Middleton. Sneaked onto the grass for the first time maybe all year and got 5 in barefoot. Then went into Middleton for practice. Finished up with 8xbarefoot striders. Good batch of running today. (Barefoot '12 95.5)(F50 343)

afternoon - 5.5 Washington.  Ran into Washington on an out and back.  Good convo with Mikey about the game plan for this weekend.  Wondered if maybe Byron and Casey would also make the Championship race - and they did.  So good for them.  Skipped out quick so I could spend a little family time since I'll be gone the rest of the week.  We went to dinner before heading over to Pyper's choir performance; she is a cutie!  (Last Ohana 355.5)

AM - 6 AC/Lutheran.  Usual.  Got as much sleep as I could for today's drive to Flagstaff and then got the regular run in.  I can tell the legs are a little tired from the higher mileage this week, but not dead.  Miles will come down a bit for the rest of the week now.  (Oregon 480)

afternoon - 3 Toka Sticks.  Ran the course (Nike Southwest) down in Phoenix.  I sure love XC.  Maybe someday I'll run the citizens race, but I am always hesitant since I am here for the team.  (Zero 122.25)

AM - 8 Phoenix.  Just an out and back in Chandler from the hotel.  Needed to get up pretty early and I wasn't about to drag myself up any earlier than I already had.  (Kinvara3 132)

Week was pretty solid.  Glad I got the higher mileage earlier in the week so that the weekend wasn't too stressful with the trip.  Kids ran great and it was a fun trip down to Phoenix.

Goals for next week:  Have another solid mileage week, hopefully around 90.  And get a bit of tempo in again to start working into that more in the next few weeks.

AM - 6 AC/Lutheran.  Probably should have gotten up earlier.  I am feeling great on the Mondays (although my knee actually hurt a little today, but warmed up), but I used the excuse of being able to get more in later in the week to sleep a little more.  (Free 715.95)

AM - 6.25 AC/2450.  Knee is hurting quite a bit.  After standing all evening long for the XC banquet, it just really started hurting - that pudgy achy pain that it gets some time.  Didn't warm up and feel better like yesterday; just bugged the whole time.  Ahhh.  (Connect 373.5)

afternoon - 6.25 2xDI. Kept it short today as the knee was hurting even more by the end of the day. Ran warm and cool with the team (and Tyson) and around a little as they did their workout. Then a mile with Pyper - she is quite a good runner. (Ohana racers 667.25)

AM - 13 Clyde's. Bill and Steven joined our run this morning. Good to run with them. Knee felt a little better this morning. We added a little by the park. (Oregon 493)

afternoon - 10 Parkway/Dirt Mile. Ran around 4 out on the Parkway and then dropped onto the Dirt Mile for a 3 mile tempo session. Was pretty worried about how it would go since my knee hurt and I didn't feel too zesty. But, started off well and hit a 5:45 (hoped for 5:40's). Then felt myself start to loosen up and got a 5:37. And then moved into a 5:34. Pleased and looking forward to pushing that into more miles and a few more seconds off as I get back into shape. Ran back home and grabbed Ry and Py (and the dog) and went out for 3 for my cool down. (Last Ohana 365.6)

AM - 14 Warner Valley. Not really Warner Valley, but I don't know the name of where we went. James and Logan and I started from Staheli Farm and just trotted in the dark for a bit and then Steven showed up. We ran on the dirt behind the dome and then connected to the Dam Rd. Then behind the next ridge into Warner Valley where I spotted a huge sand dune and Logan took it as a challenge to try and run up - so Steve and I had to as well. Pretty wiped out by the end. (NB 101 630.75)

afternoon - 4 Dirt Hills. Ry and I ran over to do a little hill work for her in prep for FL. She always complains about running and then does great as soon as she gets out the door. She can run fast enough that it is a nice recovery run for me. (Ohana Racers 671.25)

AM - 19 Fields/Target. James and Logan joined up today and had a nice run. Nothing hard as I was still tired from the last couple trail runs and never really thought about pushing it. Then ran 2 with Ry and Py before a long day of tree hunting and house lighting. (F50 357)

Another solid week. Slowly getting the mileage up and starting to get a little faster stuff.

Goals for next week: another front loading week as we head down to Cali for FootLocker. Get another set of tempo miles in on the dirt mile and hopefully add another mile or two to it.

AM - 10 DogTown/AC/Lutheran.  Got out of bed and got in a few more before practice.  I've been having headaches a lot lately.  Decided to start tracking HR again - maybe see some trends, help workouts that kind of stuff.  Was a 40 this morning.  Thought that was a little high; maybe from all the junk I've eaten the past week.  Maybe that is the norm.  But I used to be around 36.  (Kinvara3 154)

afternoon - 10 2xDI/Trail to Nowhere. Ran the warm/cool with the team around their 1600 time trial (a lot of good runs, particularly proud of Rylee's 6:14 - not too shabby for an 11 year old). Then went out on my own and added a bit more. Kind of tired. The kind of tired from getting mileage back up. (Hyper Speed 298.75)

AM - 11 DogTown/AC/Cotton. Again got a bit in before practice. Felt about the same, a little tired. HR at 36 this morning.  (Connect 384.75)

afternoon - 11.5 DogPound/Dirt Mile tempo.  Ran the Dog Pound in reverse with the team then hit 8xbarefoot striders.  Quickly headed home and ran up to the Dirt Mile for a tempo session.  Felt pretty blah going in and I figured this may not go super well.  Getting into the tempo I was thinking 4 or 5 trying to start around 5:45 and work down toward 5:30.  First mile was sluggish and slow, but to my surprise I came across in 5:32.  So that gave me a bit of a shot and I felt pretty good.  Hit another 5:32, but then started to get a bit tired in the middle of the 3rd and slowed a little to 5:36.  Decided to get 1 more good mile in and try to push back.  Got another 5:36.  Coming around the mile, I thought maybe I would push another 1/4 to try and teach my body to keep pushing when tired and maybe beat my body by being mentally tougher.  Got to the 1/4 and decided to push it to the 1/2.  Just before I got there I thought I might just dig out the 5th mile, but then fatigue set in and I didn't want to kill myself - that isn't the point of the workout, yet.  So I finished easy and cooled back home.  Felt good that the times were a little better than last week and hit 1 1/2 miles further.  (Barefoot '12 91.5)(Ohana racers 692.25)
