morning - 13 on River Run from home.  Tried to keep it all under 7.  Wasn't always successful, but the idea helped me keep running harder than I would have otherwise.  Had to do 11th Ward extension plus a bit more in my neighborhood to make the full 13.  Next time I will do extension at first and last.  I think I will use this as a base timing run during the summer (the middle 6 miles or something like that).  (Glycerin)

Yeah, it was a good time for the course but I had some aches and pains from the training. I have never been this consistent at this high of level ever. And so I run into some aches and pains occasionally that slow me down. But I get on top of them right away with treatment like Ice 3-4x a day etc. Im starting to see some improvement now after a couple of months of higher mileage and then coming down for 4 weeks but incresing the intensity to become more marathon specific. Running at 6/min pace has helped my economy greatly and running at that pace now seems to take less effort. Training heart rate has also improved. But... that faster paced stuff does make the legs a little heavy at times. My speed endurance over long distance is slowly starting to improve.I think if you keep this up you will see some changes. I know I have. Im starting to feel more confident about the marathon now. Just remember to really change up the type of training emphasis every 8wks or so. Monotony in training is a killer of adaptation. The human body needs different types of stimulus every so often in order to improve. Just ask any bodybuilder. I would also run on trails or on the roads more because in my opinion and this is just my opinion, Traedmills are a strength killer. Sorry I laid all that out but its my day off so I kinda wrote away. Overall you look pretty good in training. Have you had any races since the half-marathon?

Sorry, I did not mean to turn it into a physiology lecture...

Good job on those 800s yesterday, sounds like the weather has been really nice there in St. George for Spring Break.

You may already know but I guess the boys are meeting at 4:00 for one more week...
