AM - 5 Washington Loop. I think I will try and get about 80 this week. I kind of wanted more, but with Halloween and some other events this week, I will not push it; plus that will help me transition a little better and hopefully more healthy into some bigger mileage in November. Right knee felt fine at first, but at 2 it started to really hurt the rest of the way, but legs weren't as thrashed. (Landreth 487.35)

afternoon - 10 Parkway w/ team and then some grass striders up at Sandstone. These shoes are shot.  My left foot had been hurting quite a bit for a couple weeks after SGM, but had been feeling much better in the last week; today the pain came back big time.  Knee had a little pain, but the real issue was the heat - nearly 90 degrees! (Stratus red 556.65)

No morning run this morning.  I am having a real struggle getting motivated to do anything right now, let alone run in the morning.  I think I am having a pretty serious case of post-marathon blues.

afternoon - 10 River Run with the boys.  Then I extended it up around the DI.  Not a bad run.  Nothing quick and my foot hurt just a little still.  (Landreth black 228.8)

evening - 3 Treadmill.  Hit a quick 3 this evening.  Felt okay again.  Nice to get a few easy miles in.  Tomorrow morning I must get up - it is the only time I can run.  (Cumulus blue 402.4)

AM - 10 Wendy's and extension.  This will be my only run today, so I made myself get up.  For the first block, I literally had my eyes open for a total of 5 seconds.  But slowly I woke up.  I don't know why it has been so hard to bounce back - I guess my body was/is just really worn down.  After only a little pain in my right knee yesterday, I thought I had turned the corner with it.  But this morning there was a lot of pain again; it did subside a little by the end however.  (Cumulus white355)

AM - 8 Middleton.  Got out of bed again and got a decent run in.  Right knee picked up the pain again about 2 miles into it and really didn't let go.  I stopped and stretched and it did back off a bit.  I think the pain is a result of a tight hamstring.  So I iced up the knee and will work the hamstring a bit more.  A lot of smoke in the air this morning that made it hard to breathe.  (Cumulus blue 410.4)

evening - 8.5 Club run on Chuckwalla Trail.  Always an entertaining run.  Today I was torn up by a few bushes.  But it was a lot of fun to be out on the trail and out with the Club.  Knee started to hurt at around mile 4.5, but it was minimal throughout the rest of the run.  (Landreth black 237.3)

AM - 10 Wendy's w/ extension.  Ran through Middleton first today to mix it up a little.  Very warm out.  Who would imagine running shirt off at 5 AM on Oct. 31st!  Knee pain started about 2 miles like usual, but I stopped and stretched and pain stayed pretty minimal.  New pair of Stratus 2.1 (Stratus black 10)

afternoon - 4 Warm Springs w/ extension.  Got out and snagged a short run before the Halloween festivities.  Pushed Laney in the stroller.  Hadn't done that in a long time.  We had fun.  (Cumulus blue 414.4)

AM - 15 Fields Loop.  Out early today before a slew of family events.  Had a lot of time to think out in the dark by myself this morning and that kept my mind off my knee for the most part.  Started to hurt at about 4 and just ached a little throughout.  Actually felt okay.  First run with an average under 8:00 that I have worn my watch on since the marathon!  About time.  New pair of Cumulus 10's.  (Cumulus gold 15)

Week was okay.  Mileage was a good build up, but runs weren't all that great - slowly coming along, however.

Goals for next week:  keep getting knee to feel better. Get back to 100 milers if body always.
