AM - Big Workout #13 9 Tinman (17.65).  Did my usual Tempo route out into the Fields.  Was a little nervous after struggling a bit last week on 8 and now moving to 9, but it turned out very good.  First mile was 6:05 then everything else was better - from 5:51-6:01.  This workout went how a Tinman should, difficult but not killer.  Felt smooth and relaxed for most of it.  Maybe that was because I saw Clyde out running and it sent memories of The Circle back to me subconsciously and the body responded!  Finished by taking dog around.  Anyway, I have reworked my workouts for the rest of the summer w/o SanFran and I will be doing this workout a few more times (mostly on the weeks before races: Squaw this week, Bryce, and Provo).  Now to enjoy a little taper, glycogen replenish starts tomorrow night, and easy jog this afternoon.  (Triumph 90.5)

afternoon - 8 City Wells.  Used to call this Grapevine - but I do a lot of runs that stay on the south part of the freeway at Grapevine and some on the north/desert part of Grapevine, so James calls this one City Wells (North/desert) so I'll start using that.  Legs were tired just like they should be.  (Landreth  838.25)

Hey Dave

I've just been looking over some different blogs and when people are doing their "big workouts" Have you been doing yours mainly on Mondays and Thursdays and if so how has that been working for you as far as feeling recovered?

I was doing Monday/Wednesday with two days recovery before a long run on Saturday, but in the summer Thursday mornings would work better than Wednesday mornings for me. I guess I'm just curious how other people have been scheduling their big workouts.

Looking good this morning. So you not going to SF? Or did I just read it wrong?

Good luck this weekend. Go out and win the race!

I hope to see you in Bryce, sounds like Steve is running that one too.

Thanks guys.

Yeah Clyde, no SanFran.

Dustin, I think the Mon/Thurs works well - decent recovery, plus Sat's long run really shouldn't be too hard anyway.

Id be careful following anything that James does. He's got a lot of issues and they might rub off.
