AM - 11 Washington Loop. Dragged Twix around on the workout this morning. Warmed up up the Parkway. Then got into a 3 mile, 2, 1 at MP workout with .5 mile recovery. First set went very well. The middle set I was off a few seconds because the dog was a bit spent. On the recovery, I let her run through some sprinklers and an over flowing gutter and she did much better on the final mile and we hit a good solid time. That's the kind of workout I'll probably do a bit of when I hang up the racing shoes here in a couple weeks - it's fun, manageable, and keeps you pretty fit. Pretty excited to be done marathoning to tell you the truth. (Pace 138.5)

Somehow, pulled off another decent week. Even though the tempo was off a bit, I've tried not to stress about those bad workouts. I am pretty content with who I am and where I am at as a runner now. It would be fun to try and do something awesome on my last marathon race in a couple weeks. But I am a realist and would rather survive with a good solid run than have a death march.

Goals for next week: have kind of planned how the mileage will cut back and hopefully that will freshen up the legs and mind for the tempo. Enjoy the trip to Boise with the girls team this weekend and keep getting the achilles survivable.

I dont like this post one bit. You have been an awesome support in my marathon running and I pretty much owe you for my PR. Great friend and coach. Excited for you! Hope you can go out with a PR!

Right back at you Ben! Running marathons with you made the whole thing really an awesome experience. Last year I wasn't truly ready to let it go, but this year has brought out my true feelings. Not to be cheesy, but I think I will remember every step of that race last year for the rest of my life and how fun it was to experience it with you.

I agree with Ben, you hanging up the racing shoes is a sad day! I say take a year off of racing and then see if they fire is there again.

In the meantime, run STG like it's your last!
