AM - 7.15 Green Springs. Not as hard getting up this morning which is always nice. Run was pretty slow - no watch - I could still feel some of the last week in my legs. (Paramount 269.95)

afternoon - 12 River Trail to DC.  Forgot watch today which was probably good.  It allowed me to just run how I felt, a bit tired, and not worry about trying to hit some pace or negative splits which I have done the other 2 times I ran this.  Construction on rebuilding the trail where it washed out because of the floods is in full gear as I had to dodge multiple tractors and diesels.  (Cumulus silver 187.05)

Piper ran away from school?! That is kinda crazy. BTW, good job on your 10K!

What are you doing still wearing those Saucony Paramounts? I had to even stop wearing mine for just walking around. Good thing we didn't pay full price!

Paramounts not one of the better moves by Saucony from what you guys are telling me...how can they want as much for them as they do?

Jeff and Steve, I've decided that I don't mind them (maybe even like them) for anything around 8 miles or so. They have a nice roll and flex to them, but every time I went longer in them, they just beat up my whole body. I also really like them on the trails. So it's not all bad - but worth the big bucks? NO!

MiK'L, It was Ry who ran. Pyper loves school and can't wait to go. In fact as we talked with Ry, Py interjected, "I wouldn't ever run away from school. It is my favorite place." If we could only keep them so young and innocent. Ry has been a hand full all year, however. And I guess she finally got sick enough of it to decide to make a break for it! In the mad chaos of trying to find her and talk to the school and police on the phone, Al about got hit by a huge sidedumper diesel as she ran a stop sign. Ahhh!

I was thinking Rylee was too old for first grade, plus it seems that Pyper is usually the crazy one! That is nuts. Where did you end up finding her? I bet Ally was dying...not to mention the diesel! Maybe you need to get her a new teacher?!

And what!?!...Alyse quit dance! I don't believe you! That is awesome...as long as she will come to track every day! I was going to ask...did Green make the bball team? She was telling me she might not make it and I was happy about that, but I'm betting she did.

She did, but they told her 3rd string with little to no playing time. She wasn't sure what she was going to do - stay on, or drop. I told her to weigh out the options and what was most important to her. I haven't talked with her since, but she was supposed to talk to the coaches today.
