DogPound from PVHS with Ruth and Jeff. Took it nice and easy and enjoyed the run.

W-151.5 (I have still yet to glean any info from taking my weight. But maybe someday it will be useful.)

RHR-38 (Holding pretty steady here in the mornings. I have felt a little better on my runs the last few days.)

Foot Injuries update:

Plantar - feeling so much better the last few days. I measure the progress by how much I cry out in pain each morning on the first step out of bed. The last few mornings barely even noticing anything. Consitent wrapping, icing, and trying to stay off of it in the morning until it gets better is paying off.

Pain below Right Ankle - starting to back off a bit. Every now and then it gets bumped and sends a shot through me, but it is getting better. I still don't know what caused it.

Left Pinkie Toe - I think this might be broken from when I rolled it a week and a half a go. There is quite a bit of pain in it still, but not when I run. And a lot of swelling but no bruising, just redness.

If I get some more time, I am going to go back as far as I can and write more info down from earlier in the year.

Thanks for the number I'll get that singlet to you.

Pinkie toe - have you tried stretching out the left shoe you wear to work?

Take one of you running gloves or socks (same thing) and put it over the top of a curved broom handle, put the broom handle in your shoe and stretch out the side that is putting pressure on that toe. This works wonders for taking away annoying areas on shoes that are rubbing you wrong.

If that doesn't help, you'll need a pinkie toe cast.

Oh the pain. When those injuries go away it sure makes us appreciate the times when we are injury free. Thanks for dusting last night. I knew something was up when you guys turned into magicians just before 400 Easts. Do you want me to get your award tonight from the Marathon and bring it to the race tomorrow?

Hey Dave

It makes me feel better seeing I'm not the only one that could make a list of injuries. It seems like I always have some minor injury that is always bothering me. I saw where Steve posted about race singlets did they decide what they are wearing tomorrow? Let me know if you could

Dave - I looked at your recent training. I think with your background right now you could benefit for about 3-4 months of pure base with no speedwork other than occasional tempo runs and strides. This will accomplish two things - give you some solid aerobic endurance, and let your injuries heal better.
