Afternoon - 9 on GreenSpring/Powerline/Middleton Trail.  Felt really good, especially after hitting the main trail and on down the Middleton Trail.  Felt fast so I picked it up a little and hit 6:15 with not much effort and then backed it down and still hit 6:40's for a couple miles.  What a beautiful day.  Weather was perfect.

Weights - regular routine

PM - 3 on the treadmill at 1% and 7:30.  Just took it easy and used it as some recovery time.

Hi Dave, I have not decided on what marathons to run yet. I want to make sure I can run a really good half before I put the hammer down again. I was not developed aerobically enough last year. So throw in some nasty mishaps to boot and you end up crashing worse than a 747! I plan to get hopefully as high as a 120 mpw. I know that sounds crazy to some guys but consider that Bill Rodgers did not break 2:30 for the marathon until he did well over a 100mpw consistently for about a year. I read this in a short bio of his. However I would be careful about doing high mileage in the summer with races and especially that Southern Utah heat you guys are famous for. I would say go for it but build up to it starting now during your base period. Or you could run 60-70 mpw with one or two hard sessions of long intervals with two easy days a week. Then... Do a 4-6 week build up with high mileage but with mostly marathon paced work during your long and medium long run. This is my belief take it for what it's worth. Where was your 1:14:42 half marathon? Nice hearing from you!
